متن کاملan analytical model for velocity distribution in transition zone for channel flows over inflexible submerged vegetation
the estimation of velocity distribution plays a major role in the hydrodynamics of vegetated streams or rivers of extensive natural floodplains. the velocity profile in vegetated channels can be divided into three zones: uniform zone which is close to bed with uniform velocity distribution, logarithmic zone which involves the main channel with no vegetive cover and the transition zone that is a...
متن کاملAn Inverse Method for Subcritical Flows
The inverse problem in the tangent gas approximation is considered. An exact method for designing airfoils is presented. Constraints on the speed distribution are easily implemented. A simple numerical algorithm which is fast and accurate is presented. Comparison of designed airfoils using the tangent gas method with exact Euler results is found to be excellent for subcritical flows.
متن کاملAcross-channel distribution of the mean and tidal flows in the Khuran Channel, Persian Gulf, Iran
The Khuran Channel, Southern Iran (26°45’N), is a topographically complex channel which is open at both ends. Owning to its particular geometry, this narrow channel is subjected to strong tidal currents.Across-channel distribution of the mean and tidal flows were obtained over a semidiurnal tidal cycle in the Khuran Channel where the highest tidal velocity in the third day of the seco...
متن کاملStochastic dynamo model for subcritical transition.
The effects of stochastic perturbations in a nonlinear alpha Omega-dynamo model are investigated. By using transformation of variables we identify a "slow" variable that determines the global evolution of the non-normal alpha Omega-dynamo system in the subcritical case. We apply an adiabatic elimination procedure to derive a closed stochastic differential equation for the slow variable for whic...
